- "An IceWing. In our rainforest. Don't just lurk in the trees, friend. Come down and say hello."
- — Obsidian to Winter when they first met, Winter Turning
Obsidian is a male NightWing who was introduced in Winter Turning. He serves as a guard under Queen Glory and currently resides within the Rainforest Kingdom.
Description[]
Obsidian has black scales[1] and sharp teeth.[2] He is sly-looking,[3] with a forked black tongue and a calculating,[1] superior expression.[4]
Personality[]
According to Moonwatcher, Obsidian has dark thoughts. He hates being on guard duty and being told what to do by RainWings, as well as being partnered with Bromeliad.[5] He tried to be as cruel and commanding as possible towards Winter because he wanted to see him squirm.[6] He is squeamish about the rainforest.[3]
Biography[]
The Jade Mountain Prophecy[]
Winter Turning[]
While Moonwatcher was checking if there were any dragons approaching them, she read Obsidian's mind, and described him as "someone with dark thoughts." Later on, Kinkajou flagged him down, and escorted them to the NightWing village, since that was the protocol for new dragons in the rainforest.
Talons of Power[]
Obsidian was complaining to Darkstalker about the insects in the rainforest.
