"Sometimes I'm only sure of one thing... that I hope I never hurt you."
—Winter to Moon. [1]

Prince Winter is a male IceWing dragonet, his parents being Tundra and Narwhal, in result, he is royal nephew of Queen Glacier. He first appeared in Moon Rising as a student of Jade Mountain Academy, which is where he met the Jade Winglet. He is the main protagonist of Winter Turning. Winter used to keep a pet scavenger named Bandit in a cage that he built himself, but he let Bandit go in the beginner of Winter Turning because he had plans to travel to the Ice Kingdom and knew that his pet couldn't survive its subzero temperatures.

Although Winter was raised with the notion that IceWings were sworn enemies of the NightWing tribe, he fell in love with Moonwatcher soon after they met. However, Moon chose Qibli over Winter in the epilogue in Darkness of Dragons; Winter may still have a chance at love, though, if he meets someone in Sanctuary, which is his current residence according to Darkness of Dragons. It was also stated in Winter Turning that Winter was fond of Lynx, regarding her as smart, pretty, and hardworking.

Appearance Edit

Winter has scales as pale blue as a frozen ocean, with glittering scales like overlapping chips of ice[2] that become slightly darker along his spine and the edges of his wings[3]. He has sharp, cold, dark blue eyes[4] that are described as "arctic pools" by Moonwatcher in "Moon Rising", silver-blue wings[5], and sharp, silver claws[6]. Winter has been noted to be broader than Qibli, but not any bigger[7], and he wears a wolf-skin pouch tied to one of his ankles[8] that contains his skyfire rock. He has been described as incredibly handsome and beautiful by many dragons, and 'shiny and sparkly' by some RainWings, such as Kinkajou and several hatchlings.

BiographyEdit

Moon RisingEdit

Winter and his sister, Icicle, were sent by Queen Glacier to attend Jade Mountain Academy as students. When he first met Moonwatcher, he threatened to hurt her if she injured Bandit, his pet scavenger. Qibli stepped in to negotiate, but by that point everyone had realized that Moon had wanted to protect Bandit, not eat him. Winter thereafter began to develop romantic feelings for Moon, as he was fond of her fascination with scavengers and her bravery as to stand up to him. Later on, Moon received a vision of the history cave exploding, and she warned Winter not to enter the room, stopping most of the other dragonets from entering, save for Tamarin, Carnelian, and Bigtail. Although Moon tried to save Winter and the others, he became suspicious about how she could have known about the explosion. He gave her one day to tell him the truth, threatening to tell everyone at Jade Mountain that she had caused the explosion if she failed. However, he didn't get a chance; he was present when Icicle was attempting to murder Starflight on behalf of Queen Scarlet, as she had promised to free their brother Hailstorm from her SkyWing prison and therefore return him to the tribe. Winter, Moon, and Qibli successfully saved Starlight's life, but not before Icicle jumped out of one of the library's leaf windows, escaping into the mountains beyond. Shortly afterwards, Winter left Jade Mountain Academy with Bandit with the intention to find her and save Hailstorm. However, later Winter is found freeing his pet scavenger ,Bandit, by Moon, Qibli, Turtle and Kinkajou

Winter Turning Edit

In the prologue of this book, Winter is shown exploring SkyWing territory in search of a scavenger den with his big brother, Hailstorm. However, Hailstorm was surrounded by fourteen SkyWing soldiers, one being Princess Ruby. The SkyWings intended to take both brothers to Queen Scarlet, but Hailstorm offered them a deal: if they let Winter go peacefully, Hailstorm would go with them without any argument. Hailstorm ordered Winter to fly away and tell the tribe while he was trapped under Scarlet's talons.

After Moon told Winter about her mind-reading and visions, he became bitter and angry, convincing himself that she was a lying, deceitful NightWing who had pretended to be his friend for her own personal gain. However, he had to admit that having four other dragonets with him, some with helpful powers, could help him find his sister; so, in result, he made a plan to use them while he needed them and then ditch them without a trace. Unsurprisingly, Winter was disgusted and uncomfortable in the Rainforest Kingdom, unnerved by the bright colors, bugs, and the swelteringly hot weather that it contained. When he saw a sloth lounging in a tree, he lunged toward it with the intention of lunch, but a red blur intercepted his path, who turned out to be a RainWing named Exquisite. She angrily explained that Toe-Fur was nobody's lunch. Disgruntled, Winter was led by Bromeliad and her NightWing partner, Obsidian, to the NightWing Village, where Moon reunited with her mother, Secretkeeper. There, he was pinned down by Deathbringer, mistaking Winter for his sister Icicle, who needed to be arrested for Starflight's attempted murder at Jade Mountain.

After Queen Glory hauled Deathrbinger off Winter's back, she apologized and spoke with Winter about his sister Icicle; after the group found a circle of uneven ice and an unusual mound of dirt, they realized that Icicle had killed one of the Rainforest's NightWings. Realizing the growing danger for Winter and his friends, Glory sent the Winglet to the RainWing hatchery because it was well-fortified and guarded already; there, Qibli suggested that they sneak out and find Icicle before Glory and her troops did. While Kinkajou distracted the dragonets with a game of hide-and-seek, Winter iced over a hole in the hatchery's wall, breaking through and sneaking away with the others.

Moon, with her mind reading, sensed Icicle nearby. Her senses proved correct when Icicle appeared in the abandoned Night Kingdom. She looked ragged and tired, with bloodshot eyes, still-bloody wounds, and angry burn marks on the underside of her wings. Icicle explained that she had kept herself away by laying next to the lava in order to avoid being dreamvisited by Queen Scarlet. As Kinkajou attacked Icicle, Glory shot the IceWing with a tranquilizer dart; Icicle panicked, knowing that Scarlet would come for her. Winter, crouching beside her ear, whispered that he would kill Glory himself, if Scarlet could offer proof that Hailstorm was still alive. Later that night, Moon was able to hear Icicle's conversation with Scarlet, but she wasn't worried, as she had faith in Winter. Aside from that, she discovered a clue of Scarlet's possible whereabouts, and they then left the Rainforest Kingdom in search of the Talons of Peace, hoping that one of their SkyWings might be able to identify the mountainous range that Moon had seen.

After a hostile encounter with a catapult controlled by scavengers, Winter and Qibli were resting by the river, but they were confronted by a SeaWing named Squid, who claimed that he was "practicing his stealth approach." He was accompanied by another, older SeaWing named Riptide, who apologized for Squid's behavior and sent him away so that they could talk in peace. Riptide summoned two SkyWings, Pyrite and Avalanche, and Pyrite recognized the mountains that Moon had drawn. She was a very fidgety, nervous, and frankly strange dragon; as Winter made brief contact with her scales, he realized that she had a strange aura around her, which led him to believe that she must have been an animus dragon. Later that night, Winter woke Moon to discuss his suspicions, but Moon disagreed; she hadn't seen any trace of magic in Pyrite's head.

When they arrives at Scarlet's hiding place, they found her former shelter destroyed and abandoned, as if Scarlet had ruined her shelter in anger and then left. When they sleep that night, Winter was dreamvisted by Scarlet herself, who smugly told him about how she knew that Glory still lived and that Hailstorm was going to be dead by morning.  Winter tips his skyfire pouch off and mentally shouts for Moon to wake him up. Moon heard him and rescued him from the dream. Since Scarlet was able to dreamvisit Winter, she must've seen him during the day when they were searching for her, proving that she is very near. Moon, Qibli, and Winter started searching for her while Kinkajou and Pyrite stayed behind. They located Scarlet, learning that Pyrite had something to do with Hailstorm. Before they go back to interrogate Pyrite, they see that Scarlet's companion is a NightWing. When they returned, they saw Kinkajou was injured by Scarlet's companion, who flew away blinded after Winter and Moon attacked him. Winter cornered Pyrite, who claimed that she knew nothing of Hailstorm. Winter ripped off her necklace, revealing that Hailstorm has been under the mask all along.

The dragonets traveled to Possibility to get a doctor for Kinkajou. Winter, Qibli, and Hailstorm had to wait outside. They attracted attention when Hailstorm shouted to greet a SkyWing called Eagle that he had known when he was under the mask of Pyrite. Eagle was angered by this because he didn't know Hailstorm as an IceWing and considered him as a stranger. A SandWing named Meerkat solved the problem, then proceeded to take them to a doctor named Mayfly. As Kinkajou was being treated, Qibli and Winter tested out the necklace. He told Qibli to take it off him after two within two minutes. He went into the mind of Pyrite, but Qibli took it off after a while as instructed. Winter cleared out his thoughts, thinking that he hated being Pyrite. And realized how horrible it must have been for Hailstorm.

Winter decided to take Hailstorm back to the Kingdom of Ice and never return. The others said they would wait one week at Possibility for him to come back, but after that they'll leave to save Jade Mountain. Hailstorm started to remember parts of his old self after seeing the Great Ice Cliff, an animus enchanted wall that shoots deadly ice spears at any dragon that isn't an IceWing. They enter the Ice Kingdom, and Winter's parents were waiting for him. They took Hailstorm away to ask him his side of the story, and Winter was placed at the top of the First Circle for rescuing Hailstorm. However, Hailstorm was dropped to the bottom of the Seventh Circle for getting captured by the SkyWings in the first place. Hailstorm was torn between taking the Diamond Trial and reaching first place again, or sparing his brother's life and a lowly life after his seventh Hatching Day. He loved his brother, but Hailstorm felt like he had sacrificed enough for Winter, so he chose the Diamond Trial.

Hailstorm and Winter entered the Diamond Trial, and their objective is to find the frozen dragon in the cave and kill it. They were given animus-enchanted diamond-tipped spears as weapons. As they enter the cave, the brothers saw many frozen dragons in the cave, which were the ones who have lost the Trial. But there was one gigantic frozen dragon that they recognized as the frozen dragon they have to kill. Hailstorm unfroze it by tapping the ice covering it with his spear. The dragon introduced herself as Foeslayer, the mother of Darkstalker and the dragon who "stole" Prince Arctic. After the brothers fought her together and tried to talk each other into not sacrificing themselves for the other, she interrupts and tells them that it hurts more to be awake and hungry than it was to die. Winter went and told Hailstorm to kill her, letting himself lose. Hailstorm reluctantly does so, but Winter didn't freeze like they thought he would.

Hailstorm revealed that to win the Diamond Trial, he has to kill Winter. Their parents secretly told Hailstorm that after they kill Foeslayer, he has to kill Winter with the spear and freeze him. Their parents didn't tell Winter because they wanted Hailstorm to win. But Hailstorm doesn't want to kill Winter because he cares about him. So Winter told Hailstorm to let him escape without killing him, and when Hailstorm walks out of the cave alone, the IceWings would presume Winter dead. He also decided to unfreeze Foeslayer and free her, because he sympathizes with her and Arctic's love, comparing it to his own feelings for Moon. Winter decided at the end to stay loyal to his friends and flew back to Possibility with Foeslayer.

Escaping PerilEdit

He was seen briefly while returning to Possibility with Foeslayer. He encountered Peril at the edge of town and attacked, thinking she was still working for Scarlet. Peril tried not to hurt him, but they collided in mid-air. Winter fell to the ground, badly burnt and at the brink of death. He told Peril, "Moon, tell Moon..." most likely trying to tell Peril to tell Moon he loved her. Winter was sure that he would die, then Turtle came and used his animus-touched rock to heal Winter's burns.

At the end of the book, Winter argued with Qibli over who gets to keep Darkstalker's scroll after they had stolen it from Chameleon. They decided that nobody will use it and they couldn't return it to Darkstalker. However, in the morning, they discovered that Moon fled with the scroll and Winter was very worried about her setting him free. They found her crying about what happened to Darkstalker's father and she decided not to set Darkstalker free.

After they got the scroll back from Moon, Qibli and Winter started to fight over which queen should get to keep it. And Peril worried because even they were fighting over the power of the scroll, and proceeded to burn it to ashes with her firescales. But because it was destroyed, Darkstalker's animus power returns to him and he burst out of the mountain from which he was buried under.

Talons of PowerEdit

Winter was first shown flying above Darkstalker with Peril. As they begin talking to the massive dragon, he began to accuse Darkstalker of all the things he had done to the IceWing tribe. Then, Darkstalker "did something" to him, causing him to stop the accusations. He began to actually say nice things to and about Darkstalker, making Winter's friends worried. Moon told Darkstalker not to enchant her friends using his animus powers, while Winter and Darkstalker reply at the same time that Darkstalker was not, although he most likely was enchanting Winter to like him.

Later, Winter is seen outside of Jade Mountain with Moon, Peril, and Qibli. When Turtle confronts the dragonets, saying he doesn't trust Darkstalker, Winter says that Turtle needs to just spend more time with Darkstalker, still obviously enchanted. Beside him, Qibli jokingly states that he would agree, and would trust Darkstalker if it wasn't Winter who was saying nice things about the 2,000-year-old NightWing. Winter leaves soon after.

Later, Turtle goes to Winter and Qibli's cave to ask to sleep there. Qibli says yes, but Winter said he wouldn't want any more snoring in his cave. Qibli asks what Darkstalker did, and Turtle tells them both what he did. Qibli said that he wondered why he was doing that, and Winter said he was just trying to make friends and be kind. They have a little argument, part of it being about Winter being enchanted. Winter says Darkstalker saving Stonemover is proof that he's a good dragon with a good heart. Qibli asks how he would know, and Winter snootily leaves. It is assumed that he told Darkstalker about that conversation, as Qibli guessed.

Later, Darkstalker reveals that there is still a timeline where Winter and Moon are together, so it is evident that Winter still loves Moon.

Darkness of Dragons Edit

Winter is seen watching Moon leaving with Darkstalker. When approached, he claims that he was only watching the sunset and Qibli says he is doing the same. Winter awkwardly states that Darkstalker will take care of Moon and Qibli responds that Moon can take care of herself, noting that Winter isn't acting like himself and must be under some sort of spell. Using a duplicate of his enchanted earring, Qibli attempts to free him from Darkstalker's enchantment, but Winter refuses to put it on, claiming that he doesn't trust it and that it would "clash horribly with his scales".

When Qibli finds out that Ostrich has been kidnapped by Onyx Winter offers to help Qibli, saying that he was returning the favor of Qibli helping Winter find Hailstorm. He is shown to be impatient and ready to go as Qibli stalls. Qibli then attempts to bargain with Winter, saying that he'll let him come as long as Winter wears the earring, which Winter declines. He then sees a copy of the earring on Clay's ear, and becomes even more suspicious and wary of Qibli, asking what he's up to. Qibli explains what the earring is for, to which Winter replies he is not under a spell and doesn't want to be. He then pushes Qibli to get going, and Qibli further stalls by explaining Vulture's tattoos to Winter, who mocks them. Winter and Qibli then head to the Dragonets of Destiny to say goodbye.

On the way to the Scorpion Den, Qibli receives a message from Turtle, saying Kinkajou is awake and fine, which makes Qibli do flips with delight. Winter then asks what Qibli is flapping all over the sky for, and Qibli replies, "Nothing," worried that Winter was enchanted to be a messenger for Darkstalker.

They soon reach the Scorpion Den, which Winter believes is unsanitary and unkempt. Qibli tells Winter about the fortifications around Vulture's place. Winter replies that nothing could compare to the defenses around Queen Glacier's palace. After Qibli explains that Vulture prefers to kill dragons before they so much as see his treasure, Winter appeared skeptical and asked how they planned on getting in.

Winter and Qibli arrive at Qibli's old home when he was younger, Winter seems that he is unimpressed and believed that Qibli lived in a better home. Soon after Qibli calls for his mother, his siblings Sirocco and Rattlesnake show up. Rattlesnake comments that she likes "shiny things." Qibli's siblings then led them to Vulture's headquarters.

When they reach Vulture's headquarters, Qibli tells Winter to let him do the talking. Winter replies, "That is how conversations with you usually work." They continue on until Winter sees two scavengers running around in a maze, and inhales sharply, which alerts Vulture. Winter demands to know what Vulture is going to do to them and defends the scavengers when Vulture says that he was going to eat the loser and that they are no smarter than mice. Qibli then hushes Winter, and Vulture begins ranting about how it was, "perfectly normal to feel like your pet must think the way you do." Winter then offers to buy the scavengers, which Vulture replied how he would do that with Winter being assumed dead by his family, which shocks both Winter and Qibli, because they didn't say anything about Winter being a royal or him being assumed dead.

More flying in soon...

Personality Edit

Winter, to the common eye, is brash, cold, short-tempered, and arrogant, most likely because of his parents' disapproval of him, and his tribe's conditioning. However, underneath he actually hates and criticizes himself more than anyone else, and he seems to have feelings for Moonwatcher, although to hide this, he tries to act arrogant and proud, but he has let this act down a few times.

He can be a bit snobbish and believed he should get special privileges for being Queen Glacier's nephew. He is also shown to be very interested in scavengers, working with the Talons of Peace to build them a sanctuary, and even caring about Bandit, his pet scavenger. One of Winter's more closely guarded secrets is that his family doesn't like him as much as Winter wants others to believe. For example, Icicle described him as "weak" for not hating other dragon tribes. However, Moonwatcher reads his mind and finds him brave and kind underneath.

Winter appears to be the kindest out of his family, as the others are very rude and love to kill, with the exception of Queen Glacier. He is also shown to have compassion, for he leaves a polar bear alone because the animal had cubs, and took interest in a scavenger in a similar situation, saying it seemed to look the same way at the polar bears as he did. Even though this choice ended with a punishment, he went through with leaving it alone anyway. He is also very interested in scavengers, saying if he were an animus, he would give the gift of observing them. Furthermore, Winter has been shown to be extremely loyal. He's willing to help others in need, as well as drop everything for someone he cares about.

In Talons of Power, he gets enchanted by Darkstalker. The spell causes him to trust Darkstalker, and bring down his walls making him more open and kind, but it also made him less sharp minded and clever. However, in Darkness of Dragons Winter is given one of Qibli's enchanted earrings and is returned to his normal self. He later does not go back to Jade Mountain, claiming that he didn't want to take the spot of any other IceWing who wanted to attend.

Relationships Edit

Moonwatcher Edit

He first met Moon when she found his scavenger, Bandit, after he'd escaped. He immediately demanded his scavenger back and said he would slice her face off if she didn't give him back Bandit. She eventually gave Bandit back after a long argument. He sometimes would think she's kind and friendly and admires her silver teardrop shaped scales at the corner of her eyes, but most of the time he thinks she's "like all NightWings," meaning being mysterious and untrustworthy. Later on in Winter Turning, he admits that he's in love with Moon and he shouldn't be since she's a NightWing. By the end of Winter Turning, he no longer cares what anyone thinks and freely admits to himself he's in love with Moon and would choose her over the Ice Kingdom any day. Towards Escaping Peril, Winter's feelings for her are still kept secret. This was shown when Peril burned him. It is assumed he tried to tell Peril to tell Moon that he loved her. In Darkness of Dragons, Winter watches Moon fly away from Jade Mountain Academy with a "soulfully tragic face." At Darkstalker's palace, they had a large argument. His actions gave her a cut from a vase he accidentally knocked over that she tried to pick up. By the end of the book, Moon chose Qibli over Winter, and in Winter's POV in the epilogue of DOD, it was revealed that he still loved her and "wondered how long it would take his heart to heal". It is also revealed that he doesn't resent either of them for Moon's choice, and believes it was his fault she didn't choose him anyway. In the book Winter Turning we see that Winter was debating one, to save Moon, or two, to help Qibli take down Pyrite. He chose to save Moon.

Qibli Edit

He is Winter's clawmate and friend. He also has a crush on Moon. Before they were friends Winter referred to Qibli as 'My idiot clawmate.' When Winter was hassling Moon about Bandit he stepped in and tried to help the situation. He was by Winter's side most of the time in the books and was there to make sure Winter didn't hurt anybody (or get hurt himself). He becomes increasingly close to both Winter and Moon and keeps naming himself as Winter's best friend, although Winter denies having any relationship with him until Darkness of Dragons where Winter first uses the term "friend" although he claims he was saving syllables. Qibli continues to tease Winter and brings out his better side and their friendship does grow. At the end of the book, Winter does claim that he likes Qibli and said he was his best friend.

Kinkajou Edit

Kinkajou considers herself to be Winter's friend, but he appears to not acknowledge her existence.  As of Moon Rising, Kinkajou has a small crush on Winter. Kinkajou admires his "sparkly scales", but he doesn't seem to notice. In Winter Turning, she showed multiple acts of kindness, none of which he seemed to care. After the attack from Chameleon, when the dragonets take Kinkajou to Possibility, Meerkat states that the doctor in the town was a MudWing. When Winter hears that, he recalls how other tribes say that MudWings would be too dumb to be doctors, and briefly wonders whether Possibility would be the right place to bring Kinkajou. When Kinkajou falls into a coma, he peeks inside the hospital window, only to be rejected by Mayfly. By the epilogue of Darkness of Dragons, however, he is happy to see Kinkajou and considers her a friend.

Icicle Edit

Icicle is Winter and Hailstorm's sister and the niece of Queen Glacier. She was always around him and other IceWings in school. When Winter found his sister trying to kill Starflight he tried to stop her and refused to help her when she asked him to kill the other dragonets of destiny after finding out about Hailstorm. He was called weak and worthless by Icicle multiple times in the book, though this could be because she blames Winter for what happened to Hailstorm in the first place.

Hailstorm Edit

He is Winter and Icicle's brother, who was lost when Winter was still a young dragonet. He was captured by Queen Scarlet and the SkyWings. Winter is constantly beating himself up about how he couldn't save him from being taken and hated the NightWings ever since they killed all the trapped IceWing prisoners in the SkyWing Arena, thinking one was his brother. He was called not being as smart or brave as Hailstorm by Icicle multiple times. Hailstorm often feels sorry for Winter, as seen in the prologue of Winter Turning. In the book, it is revealed he was put under an animus enchantment and transformed into a female SkyWing named Pyrite. He fully recovers once he's back in the Ice Kingdom. Later, when it is revealed Hailstorm was to kill Winter to recover his rank in the first place, he admits he does not want to kill Winter because he cares for his brother. Winter suggests he'd wait until nightfall, and then he will sneak out of the Ice Kingdom. Hailstorm accepts, and thanks Winter, and exits the maze so that it will only appear that he killed Winter. In Darkness of Dragons, he meets Hailstorm again, shortly before their father is killed.

Narwhal and Tundra Edit

Narwhal and Tundra are Winter's parents. They are very harsh towards him and dislike his skills. He's often compared to that of his brother, Prince Hailstorm and his sister, Princess Icicle. Narwhal is shown to be angry whenever Winter fails to obey his orders. Winter feels like he always disappoints his parents and in Winter Turning, is shown to be correct. They despise him so much they are willing to sacrifice his life to get Hailstorm back to the First Circle. Narwhal also states that he never expected to see Hailstorm again, and never wanted to see Winter again, after Winter saves Hailstorm. However, when Winter brought back Hailstorm to the Ice Kingdom, Tundra said, "Thank you for bringing back Hailstorm... It was the least you could do,". In which Winter said was the nicest thing his mother had ever said to him. He seems to not really care about them, saying, "They can't be as bad as my family" in Darkness of Dragons, but when Narwhal is killed he is devastated.

Queen Glacier Edit

Winter seems to greatly respect Glacier, stating many times she's a great queen. When Winter sees Glacier in Winter Turning, on their way to the Diamond Trial, Queen Glacier has a polite conversation to Winter about Icicle and Queen Glory. She even appears to be sympathetic to Winter before the Diamond Trial. In Darkness of Dragons, he is very upset and horrified when he finds out Glacier and the rest of the IceWings are sick. He appears devastated by her death.

Lynx Edit

Winter seemed to have a crush on Lynx before going to Jade Mountain and it is unknown if he still holds romantic feelings for her. When he returned to the Ice Kingdom he saw her during the First Circle rearrangement. Winter mentioned that he had always thought her different colored scales were pretty, but they now just reminded him of Moon. He also trained with her on the morning of the Diamond Trail. Winter was shown saving an IceWing dragonet in the Jade Mountain Battle. The dragonet was described to have blue freckles on her snout and was a young, skillful fighter. This was most likely Lynx.

  • Winter is one of two dragons to have been given a mantra by a parent, which is "Be strong, be vigilant, strike first. Trust nobody". The other dragon is Moonwatcher.
  • In Talons of Power, Darkstalker hints that there are timelines showing Moon getting together with either Winter or Qibli. However, Moon chooses Qibli at the end of Darkness of Dragons.
  • Winter is shown in the epilogue to still have feelings for Moon but is not willing to see her again.
  • Winter is the third known dragon that has survived Peril's burns, the others being Kestrel and Clay due to his fire-proof scales.
  • Winter seems to be very capable with his talons, creating his own scavenger cage complete with a working wheel. He is also shown making another metal contraption in Darkness of Dragons.
  • Since Winter is related to Prince Arctic, and Arctic is related to Whiteout, and Whiteout is related to Stonemover, and Stonemover is Sunny's father, Winter is very distantly related to Sunny. He is also related to Darkstalker.
  • But, due to Snowfox and Snowflake being mates, Winter may not actually be from the original royal bloodline.
  • It is shown in Darkness of Dragons that Winter can draw and might have it as a hobby, as Qibli walks in on Winter drawing Moonwatcher.

    • True winter has but moon chose qibli And it is Ripnammi, the ship name for Riptide and Tsunami
    • (Personally I've always felt that Winter and Qibli had more chemistry with each other than they ever did with Moon. Qinter fan here.)
