Plot[]

Prisoners was told with alternating letters and messages between Fierceteeth and Saguaro. Saguaro asked Fierceteeth about her past, and she writes a scroll titled:

The Dragonet With No Destiny[]

This scroll was about Fierceteeth's life as a NightWing on the old NightWing island. She talked about how awful the volcano was and how her mother, Farsight, acted around Starflight's egg. She completely ignored Fierceteeth and spent more time looking after her egg. Instead of fighting for her mother's attention, she tried to convince Morrowseer to let her visit the mainland. Despite her efforts, he was unwilling to allow this. At the end of the scroll, she asked Saguaro to join her and help her escape.

After receiving the scroll, Saguaro asked Fierceteeth about the other prisoner, Strongwings. She proceeded to write another scroll called:

Brains and The Beast[]

In this story, Fierceteeth explained how she met Strongwings. At first, they were not very well acquainted, but they ran into each after Strongwings angered Mastermind. Strongwings then snuck Fierceteeth through the animus tunnel to the rainforest, knocking out the tunnel guard, Deadlyclaws. When they returned several hours later, Deadlyclaws and Morrowseer met them, furious. Strongwings tried to take all the blame for their breaking of the rules, showing her his selflessness.

Saguaro asked Fierceteeth what she would do for her if she helped her escape. Fierceteeth replied with another scroll:

How It Should Have Been[]

Fierceteeth talked about what it would be like if her plans had succeeded: Fierceteeth as queen of the NightWings and Burn as queen of the SandWings. She raised the possibility that they could still change things if Saguaro helped her. In the end, Saguaro agreed to help Fierceteeth and Strongwings escape.

The e-book contains a sneak peek for the seventh book in the Wings of Fire series, Winter Turning.
