My favorite character is actually Darkstalker
Did someone say favorite character?
Glory was always told that Rainwings were lazy 24/7 by her horrible guardians. At first, that seems to be false as the Rain kingdom seems peaceful and cool. However, we see the insidious side of the kingdom as no one is bothered to find missing Rainwings, thus proving Glory's worst fears that Rainwings are lazy. Despite her hopes and dreams of decent, non lazy Rainwings being crushed, she sets out to do everything in her power to make them great again, all by herself. She does this as she realises that she is the only one willing to save the Rainwings from her horrible fate. This sets up my favorite line in the entire series:
"Because someone should care when a dragon disappears."
After being constantly told she does not have a place in the prophecy, and her lack of direction beyond following the dragonets, she finally finds a noble goal to work towards, and direction in her life.
Glory is able to rise above her disappointment fueled by years of abuse and take action, to prevent others from having the same fate as her of being imprisoned underground.
Personally I really like Glory's "character arc" of taking action to ensure that no Rainwing will suffer the same kind of abuse she did under the mountain. Despite having basically zero control over most of her life, when she does finally get that control, she tries to use it to better the lives of others. Also I really like the surprising amount of depth in her character and the questions she raises in her introspection.
If she was not raised under the mountain, would she have ended up like just another lazy Rainwing?
Would she have the inner strength to resist the suntime back in Scarlet's arena and save her friends?
It also raises other questions, like does her "inner strength", her will to do what needs to be done, also translate into utterly horrifying actions like killing others mercilessly? Does she have the right to melt others' eyeballs off in the name of protecting her friends? In what circumstance is violence justified? In the case of Scarlet, who is a sadistic tyrant? What about in the case of Crocodile, a spy trying to do her job?
Also, her past abuse has left other, more subtle scars in her life. She instinctively walls off her emotions when she's uncomfortable, to such an extent that even mindreaders like Moon cannot see her thoughts. She flinches when other people touch her.
In these ways, Glory has a surprising amount of depth waiting to be explored. This is why I really like her.
